Having removed the lid of the throttle control I expected to find the friction adjustment screw on top and to the side of the body casting. But for some reason on the version we have ( black plastic cover type with trim adjustment on the lever, as normally fitted to 2002 S34) neither the screw or the threaded hole it screws into is there.

Any ideas where such adjustment might be.?

There are two types of controls both come badged as VP the one I think you are revering to is he TX but there is also the Morse SL3 variants
Worth doing a google to check for adjustment as it is listed as having it.

Malcolm, you must have the same unit as me (S37, 2002, KAD43's)
I adjusted mine a couple of years back. All I can remember is that I had real trouble getting the top off (which I referred to this forum for help) but don't remember having problems identifying the adjustment screw. All I can suggest is to have a really good look...it's there somewhere!!

Hi
On my 2001 S28, there is a throttle adjustment screw. So as you already have done, remove the plastic cover between the levers, looking at the port throttle lever from the side, look at the top rear corner of the mounting there is a screw, the friction one is the philips headed one directly below it, well it is on mine. I am assuming you are talking about a twin engine set-up, don't think I have seen a single S34 but you never know.
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the replies. In fact our local friendly Volvo dealer has e mailed a copy of a VP drawing which shows where said adjustment is. Evidently its at about 3 o,clock on the side plate if looking square on to the throttle lever.

"Evidently its at about 3 o,clock on the side plate if looking square on to the throttle lever"

Is that not sort of what I said then?
