Kad 300 supercharger advice

Disregard my last post as I miss identified the pump the pump above is the steering pump - got to the circulation pump with the other tensioner on - does this belt need to as tight as the supercharger belt as I can turn the tensioner around by hand?
Jon

Bingo. Yes dont be shy if its a spanner in your hand. Give it welly. It's very unlikely you will over tighten it unless you are built like a gorilla given the average length of a 14/15mm spanner.

I have tightened it up to volvos torque of 35-40 nm and the noise has improved still like a saw mill but only for a split second then dies off - maybe time for a new belt - will take her out this afternoon and go from there.
Many thanks for the replies so far

If she's been slipping for long yes a new belt is adviseable. However replace the tensioning pulley wheel too. Best practice and all. It's the one belt that can and will kill your engine in a matter of minutes if it fails.

@BruceK - The noise only started yesterday - fortunately I think I have a spare belt in stock.

Pulleys should be changed with the belt. Dont ask me why, but a not insignificant percentage fail shortly after a new belt is put on. I'm happy to chance a SC belt but as above, this one drives all the others but most importantly the circulation pump. Your engine wont go 500 yards before a critical overheat will occur under any sort of load and you wont even know it because your thermostat housing will still be cheerfully cold.

All good on the belt front pulleys are getting changed out in the coming months.
Yesterday I did hear a clunking noise which I think I may have hit something.
On the drive.
I will revert back when I find out more and I stopped the engine at that point but I couldn't see anything.
