couldn't be easier. In your case, you are not linking to an image (summat finishing with .jpg, gif or such.. you are linking to a url which is not an image. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Your link is to a protected nasty appley site.... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Nice one, I'll do that in future rather than making a public dick of myself!

On second thoughts, why change the habit of a lifetime?

Mark

Thats pretty much what I did - the site is where I keep all my pics, a sort of homepage type thingy.

I might have another go and see if i can get it to link direct to the jpeg

Oh I hate bl00dy computers... thats why I've got a Mac!

"Photobox"is no good.Your image appears for about 20 minutes then gets replaced with a "no image available" notice.

boatone doesnt seem to mind people posting pics on his website for use on this forumhttp://boatsontheweb.com/

I am one of the "old School" that likes to be able to "tinker" with settings and the operating system - Macs don't let you do that. I have loads of PC based software. I frequently have to load Client's software and so far that is all Dos or PC based so a Mac is no use to me. Even my kid's school has dumped their Macs and replaced all their computers with PCs.

I can see your point, and I upgraded my PC for similar reasons rather than my MAC. But the MAC is streets ahead for image manipulation. For some reason MAC's mouse software has a far more delicate touch.
Also, you can run programmes off CD's or Zip drives etc. You don't have to load it.

Amazingly the pic I posted from Photobox is still there!I think it depends on how many people try to access it at once. This one buried in a thread cant be getting viewed much.

Are you happy with photobuckets services?Photobox have given us good service in all other respects.

I am sure you will find many uses for your MAC and from what I hear there is a reasonable volume of MAC based software available at a price. My problem is mainly none of my clients use MACs and I need to be "compatible" with their systems. That and I like to "tinker"

I have not had a problem with photobucket so far and hence am content to continue to use them. I have not used photobox so cannot comment on their service.
