You had bit of leak in your forward escape hatch via one of the latching handles and decided that it would be the work of few moments to dissasemble the handle, pop a bit of silicone into the hole to seal it and then get on with the 99 other more important jobs that wait.
Just supposed that as you took it to bits one of the parts fell onto the deck rolled in slow-mo to the edge and you heard the plop as it entered the water.
No it does not float.
Do not suppose anybody kno who made the Princess 35 foredeck hatch and can you get spares.

This is all hypothetical of course, what sort of dimwit would not anticipate this happening and take action accordingly.

So.......hypothetically, you've lost it then! If it's the one with aluminium bars across the glass Houdini in Essex springs to mind.
Found this one, maybe of some use, www.princessownersclub.com supposed to have a forum but was down when I checked about 10 mins ago.

For some reason, I thought it would be a really good idea to temporarily store a rechargeable battery on top of a D4-260.

As it turned out, that wasn’t a good idea at all, but 30 minutes with a long set of grips did finally allow the decomposing battery to be removed from an almost-inaccessible section of exhaust pipework.

Doubt its a Houdini will post picture to see if anybody can identify it.
Spent few hours searching the web last night, nothing leaps out from any of the well known makes.
Perhaps custom made. ?
The part is black plastic about the same size as a cotton reel and tapers down at one end.
Could probably cobble one up on a lathe.

All the glazing on my Princess 40 was manufactured by Trend Marine, they have a spare parts website, maybe worth a look for your catch on there.

There's a thread in another forum where the OP here has asked why some yotties get so bothered about lifting out their boats for the winter when most mobo owners don't. Or something like that.

I thought it was a very well made point, almost unarguable in fact.

So here I'd just say...

If your boat had been on the hardstanding at the time at least you'd have heard the item bounce.

Best of luck anyway!
