And so, another few little improvements and additions. I now have my steering wheel and controls fitted along with the throttle/gear controls. My extra grab handles are varnished and fitted, along with a pair of handles fitted near the stern, convenient to the rear seats. These handles are old chrome bath handles and do the job nicely, adding a bit of bling.
My mast is now varnished and fitted, along with mast light, to compliment the now working, navigation lights.
This extra illumination has been made possible by the completion of much of my electrics, including the bilge pump and a horn, bought from a motor factors. The horns themselves are a plastic body and I may fit a small perspex screen just in front of them, to minimise any water ingress.
I also dry fitted the hinged panel, complete with (car)radio, that covers the electrics/steering etc.
One minor glitch that arose when I fitted this, is the fact that it gets in the way and snags the cover on the porta loo cabinet, as it opens up. So, rather than try to adjust the cabinet, I cut back the base of the seat support, allowing enough sideways movement, thus giving me enough clearance. Phew!!
The power supply runs through a piece of plastic waste water pipe, clipped up under the inner side of the top of the deck. The photo will probably explain it a lot better! This pipe keeps things tidy and allows for running anything else inside, as the need arises. It also houses the supply to the bilge pump.
It doesn't seem like much, but it's all time consuming. And so, by degrees, we are getting there and this week, really, honestly, I hope to start the interior lining.............we shall see.......
