Just paintings

I've been an avid follower of Kukri's 'Just pictures' thread, so thought we could widen the envelope to include impressions as well as facsimiles.

I'll kick off with a painting that presents a conundrum, because I don't know where it was painted, and the artist has sadly forgotten. It is by the excellent Mersea artist David Britton, who has sadly now lost most of his sight. I have considered it might be Iken, but it lacks a church tower, or perhaps the Stour, but I'll throw it open to better travelled Forumites than me to pitch their ideas.

Walton Backwaters seen from the SE?

Looks very much like Barbers Point, River Alde, from Sudbourne.
However it doesn't show the Scots Pines, known as Little Japan across the river (although possibly they are blended in).
