Time for the annual lift out, antifoul, anodes, hull polish and protective coatings.

How great to have the boat nice and dry in the shed to do all the work. Meant we could crack through everything without rain halting play - and it did rain a bit.

A few little finishing touches then back in the water mid week.

I always enjoy watching the guys at Endeavour Yard, Gosport lifting and wheeling the boats around. Great kit used with skill. Although they still have to get it back in on Wednesday :)

A little video, only shot on my phone so nothing fancy.

Interesting story with my shed mate....

Huge thanks as ever to Matt from Platinum Marine Valeting who did all the hard work.

Its not just the rain, this time of year getting the boat under cover keeps you out of the wind too. I find its worth every penny just to be able to crack on more without being hyperthermic by lunchtime!

Yes you're right. Also the temperature in there means everything goes off as intended.

The light in the shed is particularly good for fine finishing. An even and quite unforgiving light which shows up all the flaws. Clouds in the sky can throw you a bit when working outside. Then the sun comes out and you realise what you've missed.

Being able to down tools at night then jump straight on in the morning without having to clean off, thaw out etc saves a massive amount of time.

I've asked them to have it carpeted for next year. When I was re-marking the anchor chain it was a little harsh on my knees :)

They were otherwise engaged but you are of course right.

I find it helps morale if you are seen to lend a hand every now and again. The second I'd finished my team of masseuses was straight on me back at the penthouse along with a manicurist :)
