closed due to "Uneconomic in the present climate"

how do you value an intangible asset to the marina & yard & Berth Holders. it must be more than a set of accounts

2 Fingers to the Berth Holders :mad: 8 days before renewals due

You will have to move ..

Noticed the sign in the GENTS Today .. Don't tell us about the mess from the scrap yard tell the enviromental agency .. Its hardly welcoming to new berth holders .. If its scrap metal you will have rust on the decks .. We are back in the Goldfish Bowl but on the opposite side .. Its alot cleaner .. We asked them for an easy berth to get in and out .. So we got two .. Not wide enough for two boats but wide enough to get yourself stuck cross corners .. Its Ok having a swing mooring but your boat handling skills do suffer .. Its also nice to be able to have a walk in the evning rather than have to keep getting the dingy sorted ..

To be fair its better to report to the E.A. as there is then a Complaint Number issued & is followed up locally by the area chap

Seems a bad PR move.

From what I understand, it used to stand on it's own two feet when it was run properly.

50 / 50

Hi Sailorman .. Wrong side .. Neptune was the one with all the rubbish in the water .. We are in a very nice berth in Haven Marina .. Great staff .. Nothing to much trouble .. :)

Last Pint

Shame - always thought they served good honest grub - a half decent curry or pie and chips with a reasonable bar. Thought the man and lady who ran it seemed OK although the lady could be a bit grumpy at times.

Chances are Marmalade will be in for some work over the winter so we'll miss it. Couldn't they open seasonally?

Very sorry I could not get over yesterday for a last pint in what was a great facility with a very welcoming atmosphere and great camaraderie. Undoubtedly one of the factors that have encouraged us to keep our boat at Fox's for over 10 years.

However, I'm not surprised. Pubs are closing at a rate of 90 per week!
One of the 2 sailing clubs I'm in (in the Birmingham area) with 350 members has just finished a serious "review" of whether it should delicence and stop serving alchohol. It's not just the drink driving and smoking ban, but also all the licensing costs, complying with fire regulations, hygene requirements, costs of employing staff etc.etc. In the end they decided to carry on with a bar but subs. will have to go up.

Thanks Steve, Sue and (from time to time ) Rob. and Vic. Jackie and I will miss your welcome, nosh and companionship.

Shame. This is the problem when you let a lawyer loose on a boatyard.

If Fox's MD had been a bit more flexible and knowledgeable as to how boatyards work, they would have earned at least a grand if not more from me this winter. As it is, they're only getting pennies by comparison.

I would have thought it was more likely the accountants that were calling the tune?
