Just spent an afternoon in Banus. Went to look at a SeaRay 315 Sundancer but we could not find it! Did see lots of other boats and very nice cars. What amazed me was that on some pontoons over half the boats were for sale. Mostly the 30-45ft boats, lots of SeaRays, Sunseekers, Cranchis, Princess and Fairline. I thought there may be a bargain but the asking prices seemed very high, a 2002 Cranchi Z34 for €175k etc.
Talking to the sales guys boats are selling, and some at close to asking price. The main issue is that in past years people were selling to trade up so there were always less boats available. Now a lot are giving up for a few years or trying to trade down so lots more boats for less buyers. I saw 4 lovely Absolutes including a new 56HT that SWMBO thought looked like a Torpedo......
Asking prices seem to be holding up on most boats so unfortunately no bargains to be had and the sales guys were not aware of desperate sellers who would take low offers. I also think that Banus wins the award for the tightest berthing ever....they are really crammed in there.
On the way out saw lots and lots of flats for sale, some designer shops shut down and it seemed very quiet.
Isn't looking at boats fun!
