Just been looking a mobo for sale, 'improved' by the owner :(

Relatively new, hull OK, engine 81 hrs

But all sorts of bits added, not by a professional, holes hacked / left in the console
Stuff not fitted flush, previous parts / brackets left
How well is that Autohelm going to last, I can't easily see how it's been installed

Black water tank leaks by the skin fitting & water ? in the bilge by the engine, I did not taste it !
Tape on the back of the 220V plug into the stern of the boat

Picture hooks nailed into the varnished wooden trim
Extra plumbing hanging loose

Pity ....

Very low hours. How old is it? Is there any service history?
Picture hook damage sounds like it may be as issue but other stuff sounds like it can be sorted.

2007, 81 hours v low. Owner has fitted lots of toys, asking price is quite high imo
Added all the extras to the base price and put a sticker on the boat
With this one I'd want to check all the 'improvements' as they don't look that well executed. Not just the damage due to the installs, it's how well the connections have been made
If the owner has not fixed the leaking black water outlet and the toilet smells, different issue, I don't get confidence in how the rest of the boat has been maintained / installed
I might as well buy a lower spec / cheaper boat and start from there.

Sounds like a bodger's boat.
Chances are he has bodged everything he has touched.
