Henley

We'll be having a cruise round on Saturday afternoon, looking for All Gold.

Even some of the lockies have started asking "didn't that used to be Terry's boat?" - there must be a real 80's sentiment going on!

Bugger!

Had been meaning to wander up and take a look at this event, maybe even anchor up somewhere and try and listen to it from the dingy but have now booked to go and see my mum on Saturday.

Just my era too, let me know if it was any good will you?

Cheers,

Darren.

was tempted to go when I first saw it advertised and then sort of forgot about it (I think the weekend mooring cost of £120 might have helped me forget).

just looked at the website and it does look like there is alot of things going on apart from the music - comedy tent, funfair, fireworks.

anyone know if this is going to be a yearly event, as could be tempted next year?

I think that they are going to see how this one goes before they decide if they will be doing it again.
We popped up on Weds eve to look at what was going on and their seems to be loads of things - the stage is facing the river but fairly well back. Might pop down this eve if I get a chance - should have taken pictures on Weds :rolleyes:but never thought. I'll try and remember tonight!!

Like it

I moored up yesterday afternoon, and some local friends in a lovely day launch rafted up; the mooring stewards didn't like it, but accepted it.

We went and had a wander round, there is a really good atmosphere, and there is indeed a lot going on, even though the main "event" doesn't start until today. Comedy tent, bars with very entertaining cover bands.

I Think the fact that it is "eighties" is generally attracting an older crowd, and (so far) everyone seems very well behaved, you even get waited service in the bar for a mere 50p a round, and all the people working here seem happy and helpful. It is a bit pricey, but then it is aimed at an audience that should be able to afford it I guess.

Trying to take lots of pics, but not going to attempt to upload them over a mobile connection.

Blazing sunshine here this morning, and that always helps; time for a cup of tea and a croissant al fresco me thinks!

Have a great weekend, Rob. We are about to head up to Bray, taking the landlord of the local pub with us. A tactical decision, yes, but he is great fun too ;)

We'll be coming along soon with Brayman. Tried to spot you yesterday, but couldn't catch you on board...
