Some days, it IS worth it!

Worth the constant bills, cleaning, fettling, travel and so on, just for a few perfect hours in the sun at the helm!

We took a few guests down to Windsor for the day (Originally going to be Cookham, but apparently there was a lock problem?) and arrived at Bray to find just one large parking space for us, which we promptly filled, and we soon basking on the flybridge with some cool vibes and a few freshly popped bottles to entertain the non-drivers.

Sure, there were queues at the locks, but we didn't care! Nothing really mattered, not the little Hire boats piloted by Kamikaze helmsmen, women and children, not the £6 mooring at Windsor, which we had escaped paying so many time I actually felt sorry for the guy and paid double much to his amazement, a feat I had promised myself beforehand...

It was simply perfect!

agree with all that. The Weather was so good I was awake at 5.30 having coffee and as excited about getting out on the river as I was the first day I bought the boat. Amazingly out of 62 boats in our marina at Temple I think I saw 3 boats out of 60 odd go out and we were one of them. Now the Marina is stunning but I just want to get out on the river, seems sad to see so many boats just sitting there, car park was nearly full but they did not seem to venture out.

Other temple folk probably working overtime to pay the increased mooring charges!

Well, we were out but well downriver already. See more people from temple out that the old Harleyford brigade. Bunch of Broom houseboats over there ;)

lol

Possible although it was the same last Season as I remember, (boats out not the charges lol) either way I guess some people just enjoy sitting on and by them and other enjoy being out on them.

We have never seen the Witham as busy as it was yesterday. Every man and their dog was soaking up the sun from their boats. Excellent weekend and worth all of the effort getting the boat looking good. Quite a few boats broke down though yesterday through one fault or another, just glad ours wasnt one of them.

Praying its as good next weekend for a trip to Windsor with the club. Awaiting weather forecast before choosing white wine and salad or beer and steaks to fill the fridge.

We are going on the sea for the first time next weekend so chances are it will be raining and blowing a gale!!!
