Hello again,

I have had some info on Myloe and think we might have an early Junior Folkeboat
a nice little find if I do say so myself!

Does anyone have any detailed technical drawings of the junior folkeboat.

Does anyone near Torbay have a junior folkeboat that the missus and I could have a look at?

Does anyone have any idea of what an unrestored Junior Folkeboat might be worth, as im not sure I have time to do this pretty little (and potentially historically important) thing justice.

She is mahogany on oak, except some repaired planks replaced in oak, (I was advised this was to identify the original planks and the repair/ replaced planks). There are a couple of planks and a couple of frames that need repair, and the deck and coaming needs replacing

We currently have a Gaff rig, and while we believe it is not original, it has been on the boat for a good few years (as a cure for the weather helm on the original rig)

Any advice would be welcome

Juniorbåd

Couldn't confirm one way or the other but it certainly looks very similar to a Juniorbåd I used to sail in on the Limfjord (N. Jutland) and the dimensions seem right.
I recall that one (owned by a friend) was clinker built, half-decked and bemudan rigged.
There is plenty of information on the class here: http://www.kdyjunior.dk/
You might try spaming a few sailing clubs in Scandinavia if you do not get any response here as I believe the origins of the class lie in Sweden. Someone will be happy to translate information better than I can I am sure.

PS

OK read a little bit more ...
Design commisioned by the Royal Danish Yachtclub in 1928 from Swede Erik Salander. The Royal Danish Yachtclub (KDY) presumably have the drawings.
There is a 47 year old used boat for sale on the site for ~£1500 so the value is more emotional than fiscal !

Thanks for that guys

Im back to work offshore now, so will be dragging some of the Norwegian, Dutch and Swedish boat crew down to translate, Email and Google.

I now understand the price problem, below the boat for £1500 was one for £12k. I guess I better start working on the historical providence!

Thanks for the steer
