June 15th-16th Cherbourg Scuttlebutt

Sorry guys, I think I have got a week out of sync: I am going to a cruising association event at itchenor this weekend, then off on Monday 10/6 for the week with eldest daughter, for a week of bonding and hopefully will be able to start OB motor if you have seen my other thread, but back for sat 15/6: she has a horse show on sunday 16/6 and as a dutiful father have been persuaded to go and support in exchange for a fathers day bacon butty and pint!

We are going to Yarmouth Monday 10/6 to enjoy the mid week discount ( can never get in there at weekends) , then either across or west along the coast depending on the weather: maybe Alderney if the NE winds change. Will be heading back thurs or fri.

Anyone else out that way give us a shout!

We're looking for at least one other to crew on a Bavaria 38 with Tranona. The usual is leave Friday morning or Thursday night, spend a day in Cherbourg, drinks and eating together in the evening and sail back Sunday. Tranona is flexible with times however.

Fraid I can't make it but wish you all fair winds and sunny weather. Don't forget September scuttlebutt Cherbourg cruise. If Colin organised another one in June 2014 and date is set early enough I would love to join you all.

Anyone cruising the Ci's and N Brittany mid July onwards for 4 weeks if you see Janes Buoy around give us a wave or come and say hello. If you see Janes Buoy around at other times it may be on charter so don't be surprised if the skipper wonders why you are waving and being so friendly!!

Thank You Roger, i'm just hoping we get some of the sunshine you manage to organise in September!!
I know it was a short notice affair but I thought it may be better to get on with it,as Summer could just as easily dissapear as fast as it came and also fot those with little ones (me) have a good chance of doing the whole trip in daylight, though at present our plan is to leave Thursday night. Perhaps if this does happen next year we can choose a date with a neap tide closest to the Summer Solsitce?
We've got a nice little crowd going and the winds look okay at present, so I'm really looking forward too it.

I haven't managed to get my bottom scrubbed, so can't cross on Bedouin this weekend.

I'm probably available to crew if anyone is short of a hand (or is that a pair of hands)

Hi,

I am new to the Forum but have been mentioned this by a member of my sailing club (Ashdown Sailing Club). I would be very interested to join as crew if there is any boat leaving late afternoon on Friday, which from what I read is very unlikely. I am just posting this message in case there is one. I am happy to give more information about me, references, etc. to any boat owner/crew if they are interested.

Many thanks
Pablo

Sorry folks I'm going to have to cry off. Just got back from a conference last night and work has been piling up while I was away.
Also it looks like being on the nose from Bembridge to Cherbourg tomorrow and quite a short lull in the winds.
