July WNS

[ QUOTE ]
Chuck two sons overboard, its not deep because you have just run aground and get them to put there shoulders to the bow and start pushing. Tell them there allowance depends on sucessful refloating.

I was wondering who would be the first to suggest this.

Also, if "husky" is a pc euphemism for "fat lardy git", then when the porkers go over the side the boat will probably bob up enough to float off.

Gentlemen

Thank you for all your suggestions. I'm sure many readers will have salted away this combined wisdom in case one day they find themselves in a similar situation.

IMHO, it would be unwise to let the boat go down on to the sterngear because as Deleted User says, you might end up forcing the P bracket through the hull. Shouldn't happen but....
So as Fireball and Deleted User say, don't hesitate to sacrifice stuff like cockpit cushions and sunbed mattresses.

Nice to see some lateral thinking in getting outside assistance. The marina might be able to send a boat with bods and equipment to help.

But Daka gets first prize for his suggestion on making a crane out of boat hooks and warps, and using the engines to lift the boat off the ledge. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

See you all next month. And BTW, I would be REALLY grateful for any WNS suggestions.

Best wishes
TJ
