So, a sailor's treat, a 4 day bank holiday weekend 1 - 4 June this year.

So what's everyone doing ? I'm assembling as many boats (sail and power) as poss and heading from Solent to Weymouth for laughs and drinking. Our trip on May BH last year was 7 yachts over to Channel Islands and back but fancy something easier this year.

You're welcome to join us...

I've been told there's some kind of inshore racing regatta on in Poole that weekend - dont know how big but I'm told some of the SOlent hooligans will be down there as well as the X332 nationals -- might be worth avoiding ?!

I thought the whole point about cruising was to go where the wind takes you. Why plan already for June. The weather could (in the Uk) keep you stormbound. Personally I shall keep an eye on the forecast and then make a decision. If the wind is out of the south-west its the Solway and the Clyde. If its out of the north then it has to be The Isle of Man and Strangford. Life's tough when you have to make that sort of decision.

Hi - this is Weymouth's 'Harbour Mistress'! Suggest caution organising anything for the Jubilee Weekend for Weymouth town quay as we are hosting ISTA Small Ships Race that weekend. It's worth your while making a phone call closer to the time as if there are lots of entries the place will be full! Marina should be OK. Look forward to seeing you any other weekend though!

I have chartered for the week from Hamble and hope to do a cross channel. Sounds like it may be busy.

Is Honfleur possible in one hit?

Sounds as if Cherbourg is a good place not to be. That's at least two different races planning to be there; The 'Little Ship Club' are planning a rally there that weekend, and doubtless many other clubs are as well.

The channel is likely to resemble the Solent on a sunny Saturday.
