was in B & Q earlier and saw they were selling jubilee union jack bunting, and was tempted to get some to put on the boat for our 'jubilee holiday' river cruise - what does the forum think?
good bit of fun or just tacky?

good bit of fun or just tacky?

I was in B&Q yesterday and nearly bought some - but thought it tacky !

This morning I think it might be fun.

I think I'm prevaricating but I can't make my mind up !

However I do have a full run of International Code flags for dressing overall so I think that's probably enough. Bad enough Oldgit calling my boat "cute" without him saying it's "cute AND tacky" :D

Regardless of what the forum think we are going to trim NC up with plenty of bunting and flags over the Jubliee weekend. We are going to wait whilst we get into Whitby first though because I dont think it would survive the journey there too well :D

the reason I didn't buy it there and then, was because it is rectangular bunting, as opposed to triangluar, which I think looks better.
If I see any triangle ones, I maybe tempted.

Do it proper and get as set of these:

I walked past several very large house on Richmond Hill last night all sporting plastic bunting and all very tastefully done so go for it!

The river is now starting to come alive (London end) and I have a feeling this is going to be a very big deal....

£20 for a set of flags youre going to use once ? £1.99 for the union jack ones :D

That cute little tub belonging to B1 can probably only manage one economy sized flag at a time due to length of boat.
Two would turn it into a sailing boat .
Still it might mean he went further than to the nearest lock and back. :)

Will be doing mine, we have International code bunting as well. I caved in at Sainsburys yesterday and brought some union jack ones.

You know you all want to...

What are peoples plans for the weekend?

I'm sitting at Tedders right now, locking in to St Kats tomorrow evening.

Don't tell Howard, I haven't paid my fee yet!!

Also have union jack flags stashed away under my settee - Sam thinks I couldn't get any so shhhhh!

AND the code flags string to go up too.
