Jubilee Barge

Gloriana was moored outside Mark Edwards' premises at Richmond Bridge after she was launched.

Mark Edwards built her elsewhere as she was too big for his normal workshop!

Wow.

Like or loathe the monarchy, this has certainly given the boat-builders the chance to exercise their skill!!!

Much the best pictures seen to date - many thanks.

With those pics one can understand why she took a long time to build and cost whatever she did.

Such a pity that so few Thames boaters will have an opportunity to see her being worked at close quarters (i.e. boat to boat).

My Management's just pointed out that she's flying (an unofficial) Cornish flag from what suffices as a jack staff - for obvious reasons.
Perhaps she'll be going dreckly.

First word that came to mind when I saw the pics......would love to see her up close: wonder if they'll do a 'lap of honour' cruise up the river sometime?

Probably not with HM on board of course :D

Something to resurrect TMBA's suggested "boat past" in June, perhaps??
