i have pulled the cable too hard removing the plug through the coachroof and pulled several wires out. it looks impossible to re-wire . where can i get another cable or have the plug re- fitted ? my meathooks cant work on that scale !

somewhere I have the details of the part number for the plug. I sources one from RS components in the UK. It is possible to solder the wires on, I did it but it took some time but no los of signal. Will get back to you when I can find the details!

Amazing when a filing system works:

The connectors are made by JAE
Antenna cable connect p/n SRCN6A16-10P 2
Power cable connector p/n SRCN6A16-7P

If you type the part number into Google you should be able to find a local(ish) supplier

I purposefully cut the cable of my JRC1000 and re-made it internally with a block connector. It has worked just fine since. Fiddly but possible. Of course your connections will be outside but with suitable sockets mentioned above Im sure you'll be fine. Perhaps a belt and braces approach with thats stretchy waterproof tape over the connector would help too.

Just a suggestion but we do likewise and have a cut and chocbox under the headboards, which makes it easiet to get it out when we drop the mast. If you did the same it would leave you with a 2m or so tail of cable to the damaged fitting/connector. Then you could take the tail and fitting to an electrician to reattach the wires. Might get away with a £30 bill for an hours work and you'd certainly have a better installation.

The JRC1000 has a kind of a strange cable. A few wire are faily thick( Supply plus /minus), two are screened (video and AFC) plus a few thin control cables. The Electronics (Power supply, Magnetron etc) is located in the scanner. The panel has only the video stuff.
I cut the cable und used a large waterproof connector on the deck. had a problem with one of the control wires, which went open, perhaps I put too much strain on it....
You can use several cables, but for the supply connection you need a heavier stuff or several in parallel. The screened ones are no problem since its all low frequency (video..)

thanks Simon and everbody i did actually cut the cable inside when the mast was dropped recently and intend to put a chocbloc inline . so yes i know a local instrument techie who i,m sure can re- attach the plug /wires . the forum - fixing fings for fumbling fanatics !

I have located a new power plug for my JRC 1000 radar, but do not have the wiring diagram of the 7 pins. Does anyone know where I might find this information?
