Morning gang,

If I ever actually finish my 'little' project, It will be Antifoul time. Being based on the blackwater, i've had some OK and some bleedin' hopeless antifoul paints.

Tempted to go with Jotun Sea Queen. Anyone local(ish) used this one with good (or bad) effects ?

I applied Sea Queen March 2011 kept boat in all winter inspected at low water April
2012 just a bit of slime which came off without any effort, well pleased better than any previous antifoul by miles, Iam on the Crouch so not to far from you.

Good stuff. Thanks mate.

Excellent stuff - I've been using Jotun for several years now. Only put one coat on and it easily lasts a year with only slime when hauled out - on the R Deben incidently.

Many thanks for that.. Looks like mostly positive feedback from all round the Essex / Suffolk coast..

I've also used it for four years - on the recommendation of the bosun at MYC and it's been good in the Crouch too. No beasties, just a bit of slime and things that grew in the mud that stuck when we dried out a few times. Shepherd Marine very helpful too.

What works on the Crouch won't necessarily work on the Blackwater as the salination levels are different (so I am told by Marinestore). Tiger Xtra has always been good on the Blackwater and Flag was useless. This year I'm trying Hempel Classic on top of the remains of last year's Tiger. Staying in until a summer scrub 2013 so proof of the pudding.......we'll see. Yes, it was quite a bit cheaper.

Well I've tried a few in my time so I think it's time Jotun gets a try out. I've had a few shockers in my time which were about as good as painting the boat with a soluble aspirin, so i'm sure whatever happens it won't be that bad :)
