I came upon 4 litres of this stuff a few years back. It seemed to work well and went hard. I used it for coating a steel keel and also for filling holes etc.
More recently it just does not go hard. I did a test batch earlier this week and it still is quite soft after 3 days. I did think perhaps I had the mix ratios 4 to 1 wrong and that perhaps I had not mixed it properly. The filler seemed to separate in the big can. But i think I got it well mixed. It is not a question of temp as temps have been from 18 to 33C each day. Is this the mode for epoxy primer getting old? Has anyone similar experience? I would hate to throw it away. olewill

Oh Geeeeeez!!

When I made my waste holding tank (just last week) I thought I would give the internal walls a 2 pot epoxy coat. It's not as if I went out and bought the epoxy since I have had it on my workshop shelf for the last 30 years. (I was delighted to have at last found a use for it). I used a plastic laundry powder type scoop (my wife has been instructed not to throw them out) to measure the quantities. Since the hardener is a lot runnier than the epoxy I think the mixing ratios may have been a bit "sus". But after a few hours it was soft but I knew epoxy was slow curing however after 3 days I could still dent it with my thumb-nail. I think it would have still waterproofed the f/g tank but then I gave it two coats of water-based bitumen.

I normally leave the Penguard for about a week but we are using in cooler conditions. I suspect it may have gone off
