we have just painted our 50ft steel yacht with jotun pilot 11 paint - we are not very happy with the results but don't seem to be able find anyone to complain to or get advice from in Thailand (language barrier mostly) and yes - I have tried the website!!!! (They also do not reply). We would like some kind of 'hard' clear topcoat to make it more durable. Since we're not happy with the result we would like some suggestions what we should paint the deck with????? We want to mix it with sand but it needs to be tough!!!! Anyone any ideas on topcoat or deck-paint or an email address for jotun????????

Had good results with Jotun two-pot. Applied at very limits of low temperature - bit thick and left "brush marks" but mainly our fault I think. Finish tough as nails.

Used Jotun-Henry Clarke in Aberdeen (telephone from overseas - 00 44 1224 895238) for advice. Everything they said for paint programme, coating rates etc was spot on.

Ask for Peter Chaine if telephoning or alternatively try email at peterchaine\nmuk\jotun@jotun-net

Also - Jotum do a sharp (I think aluminium silicate) 'non-slip' to be sprinkled on between coats. Great anti-slip qualities - bit grim on the knees when crawling about in shorts though!!

Best regards )

Painted mine with garden variety two-pot polyuretane mixed with sand five years ago. It's been baking in the Spanish sun ever since with no sign of powdering or rust. Still hard as nails.
