Hi,
I have used a "Junction Box" made up from Maplins plugs and sockets. As long as you connect the wires correctly you can link up what ever you like? Hope this is helpful. Please see attached picture.

For a start, they provide no support to the wires, so any movement is transferred to the vulnerable point where the copper is crushed under the screw. They are almost impossible to seal against moisture.

The only times they are acceptable are as a quick-fix until a better join can be made, or with the addition of ferrules to terminate the wires.

Just solder bootlace ends to the wires & the problem is solved

Makes excellent connection which can be easily disconnected.
Especially good if placed in an Index marine junction box
