Hi. I need to replace a short section of the copper strap that forms part of the grounding/counterpoise for the SSB. Still works fine but it looks very corroded. What is the correct way to join two ends of copper strap together to maintain continuity?
Thanks

Overlap the ends and clamp real tight. Need to be careful of the metal of the clamp and screw (2 screws are better than one), brass should do just nicely.

Clean really well and solder? (Silver solder if there's any strain; which there shouldn't be.)

Copper solders really easily. Paint the joint afterwards (or dab some varnish on it is even better as you can visibly inspect it through the laquer?)
