Johnson 2HP

I have just rebuilt a Johnson 2Hp. This is a fairly old unit that has given good service to my son but he can't locate the setting details for the spark plug gap.
Also, when starting I have screwed both the slow running and fast right home then backed off a turn and a half. Is this OK?

Mixture. What petrol/oil mix should I use? Any thoughts would help.

I've got one of these - 1972. Even got the Owners Manual. Contact breaker gap .020", spark plug gap .030", mixture 50 to 1 (Outboard oil), High speed valve - out 1/2 (half) turn, then adjust when hot and running fast, Low speed - out 1and1/4 turns then readjust when hot. Spark plug should be Champion J6J or equivalent. Send a PM if you need more info.
Cheers, Dave.
