That's what the new legislation is about - you won't get any red (which is all that's available) unless you sign to say you won't leave UK waters.

I mean, this wonderful solution also means that e-borders will work cos no-one will be able to go more than 12miles offshore. Win-win for the bureaucrats!

As the vast majority of boat owners don't read this forum or buy boating rags, how will they know about the latest diesel nonsense?

They will live in blissful ignorance, sign the form without giving it a second thought and life will be good.

Those NOT looking in on the forum will have blood pressure within NHS guidelines and be fit enough to carry on boating into their doatage with tanks brimming with red diesel.

Agreed, still intend to fill up in Guernsey, no doubt it will be red, even if it's not it will mix with several hundred gallons that is in the tanks already, and I won't give it another thought.

Are you missing the REAL point here... in a few years you wont be able to get more than 12 miles out as we will be imprisoned by a huge fence attoped with windmills!!

Just to get things back into perspective am I correct in saying that it is only Belgium who have fined boaters. France has said they welcome boats from the UK and by the time you get to Spain you'll have re-filled with some Euro brew.

The Uk government has no intention to change the current situation.

I may be wrong and don't claim to have read every word in the dozen or so threads currently running but is the above pretty much how things lay at the moment?

The simple solution would seem to be to avoid Belgium in your cruising. Oh my, how will we manage ?

Henry :)
