Thought I'd start by making the deck watertight as there are a couple of leaks, so I ripped out the forecabin head lining...You know that sinking feeling when you know things are going to get worse? I removed the fwd deck vent, the base for which disintigrated in getting it off. So I now have a 4" hole in the foredeck. The core is soaking wet so that 4" hole will probably become 6". Major surgery required.

So, Jobs to do before any cosmetic titivating:

  • Remove, reseat and refit pullpit
  • Repair gaping hole in deck (as above)
  • Remove 8hp Yanmar ysb engine
  • Bilge paint engine compartment and bilges
  • Fit new (to me) Yanmar ysb 12
  • Service/replace morse controls
  • Repair stem and refit bowsprit
  • Refit chain pipe
  • Back up chain plates
  • Strip, fill, epoxy and paint rudder
  • Replace standing rigging
  • Remove mast step, locate leak and refit (hope there's not a nightmare there too)
  • Test and service electrical circuits and batteries
  • Service/replace through hull fittings
  • Service mast and boom
  • Replace rotten washboards
  • Drain and clean water and diesel tanks
  • fit manual bilge pump
  • replace vhf

then the following weekend I'm going to....:p
