I dont often drop my "R",s either I cos I was brung up right see. Actually spent so long making
sure I spelt Cornish right I blew the other word. Anyway you, if you tried to correct all of
TCM's spelling mistakes you would'nt get any sleep at all (your other post refers) cos it would
take you ages.

the constant spelling mistake that irritates me is when people end words like: Faithful, Earful, Woeful, Hopeful and everything else with a double L. Think of all the keystrokes they would have saved, multiply these across the world and think of the saving on the environment. It surely makes me Tearful.
My constant mistake is DEISEL yet a have a friend who is a Diesel Fitter, at least thats what he says he is, he works in a Shoe Shop and is forever saying "Deezal Fitter"

Thanks for the tip off about the Feline Cornet - our very slow purchase of a similar specced but slightly newer one is now speeding up and maybe in a position to complete soon after Wednesday's survey. Perhaps we hold the record for the slowest purchase having made our original offer in September. My engineer friend has inspected the engines and said that the raw water pumps seem to leak and port engine fuel filter wet with diesel. Are these likely to be big deals?

Thanks for your interest and will let eveyone know when my boat actually comes in

Some day my boat will come..........

I thought all Volvo raw pumps leaked. This it to give you with lots practice with a sponge to mop oily salt water out of the bilge down between the engines.Which ensures a mysterious back ache the following morning when you get up.It also makes sure you are aware of all the hidden stuff which will need expensive fixing jobs later on and enables you to to worry about them in advance.

And here is the weekend weather..

Ummm, raw water pumps leaking, depends where from, Oldgits correct, the pipe seals do seem to leak, but that's curable for not a lot, however if the pump body is cracked or worn then that's more serious as they are V. Expensive, like £ 300 for the petrol ones! If they just need resealing and the shafts aren't worn then you're looking at arond £ 20-40ish parts tops per pump.
Fuel filters is porbably someone not cleaned up after bleeeding them if they've been fitted recently or they were ham fisted with the sealing rings, it's unlkely to be a major problem.

Like most of the posters here abouts, the Filters/pumps do dribble a bit now and then.No great drama to sort out in fact sometimes just a case of take to bits clean, and reassemble with a tiny smear of new sealer .Making sure no sealent gets into system.

And here is the weekend weather..

I replaced my raw water pump on a different make of engine a few years ago, the new one now leaks from the cover. Not a problem apart from the fact that the leak has corroded one of the nuts so I now can't take it apart to get at the impellor without drilling out the offending nut! So the real problem will be if the seawater has corroded anything else.

Hi Oldgit, how's it going. Hope you read one of the earlier freds where you were accused of being incoherent, I vigorously defended you by pointing out that you were actually incontinent. No please don't thank me, i always go to the defence of a fellow forumite under attack!/forums/images/icons/smile.gif
