I'm not putting my head out of the hatch.. I'm stuck here in Portsmouth still... the Eberspacher has been on for the last five hours... and I've been on the phone for most of that time (still working on a problem at the office) :(

Southsea marina weather

It's currently -1.6 and with windchill -4.5 (Ignore the wind direction - it's not been calibrated!)

Wish I were in Falmouth.....

I've been cold on boats, but once at a 'bike race meet at Snetterton one March (NE wind, ect), I slept in a tent (transit van rejected) fully-clothed (in sleeping bag) *with* my balaclava on - never mind a hat!

I <heart> my webasto, with it's cabin outlet 6" above my right elbow - no hat required.

Mines going off in 10 minutes, its on a timer, doesnt come on again till 9am, and i'm not getting up till at least 9:30 !

I'm going to have to move the timer and thermostat for the heating into the main cabin tomorrow, its in the wheelhouse (which i dont heat if im not in it) and the thermostat is useless out there

I'm sure I mentioned (four winters ago) that I moved my webasto controller from the saloon to a bulkhead within reach of my bunk ;-)

Themostat is still in the saloon, mind.

TopDonkey.... How about putting the heating switch next to the bed... so you can switch on before even getting up..

Yikes.. still working here but just been outside.. the sea has frozen over here as well now!!!

Hmm... should I turn all the hosepipes on to stop them freezing... we'd have a great ice-rink between the pontoons in the morning if it freezes over the existing ice... ahh.. can't.. the hoses are already frozen :(

-7° last night -9° and our central heating is awaiting the installation of the heater. Using paraffin heaters which is fine - having re-insulated the house recently. Electric blankets are just now making their appearence on the French market. A couple of years ago they were virtually unknown.

Year before last we were frozen in at Falmouth Premier. Good weather window to sail for Pompey but were ice bound.

The temperature has now shot up to -2 here in Somerset but it dropped to -9 at 4.30 this morning.

If it rises to zero I'll be going for a bike ride. Possibly.

Put a jumper on stop whinging and get out sailing you'll soon warm up.

Well, the temperature did drop to -2 hlast night here on the bonnie Black Isle, but its currently +5 and rising. I'm looking for a picture of snow to remind me what it looks like.

Looks like England is getting the cold weather this year - not that I begrudge them their turn.
