I was out on a borrowed rib on Monday with two other instructors when all electrical power went down causing the outboard to fail (later was diagnosed as the failure of the generator/alternator). All power went down including VHF.

As we were in the main shipping channel of Southampton Water at the time, we thought it rather appropriate to get out of the way of a large vessel approaching us /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The waving of outstretched arms attracted the passing Jet skier - who did in fact wonder why we were raising and lowering the arms, but hay ho! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

A few bowlines soon saw a rope attached to the stern of the jet ski and off we went to wards Hamble entrance.!

All I can say to him, whoever he was - thanks for your help
