HI, I am joshua's dad, and have read the replies to josh's posts. If everybody thought the same as some of the earlier posts we would still belive the world is flat! - arm chair criticks that would not have the guts to do this themselves at any age let alone 14!

This challenge is purley josh's idea, for very personal reasons he wanted to do something for the charities he has chosen, we have supported him 100%
(although mum took some convinsing ) and he has off his own back ,obtained sponsorship from yamaha and mdl, has met the RNLI health and safty representative, been in national (mbm magazine) and local press. Josh came up with the idea of going on the forum, to raise awareness of his trip. (Ironically the bad comments has helped him!)

I must say though that the positive comments are extreemly well recieved and thankyou, we have a very chuffed 14 year old (thats not mugging grannies ;)) and is more determined to complete his challenege knowing he has some very encorouging support- thanks
nathan

(by the way he gets his bad spelling from me- not his folt)

Joshua and Nathan. Good on you both, I would be more than happy if either of my boys turned out to have the mature attitude and guts that Joshua has. I think the safety issue in the various threads was a concern for some but Nathan has all that covered.
Wish you all the very best.

Josh - just one thing - if you see a yacht with sails up - don't aim at it ... ;)

you seem to have covered everything else ... enjoy .... although I have to admit - 15 minutes on one was enough for me! :D
