Hi guys,
Im Josh, a 14 year old boy from Bristol and May this year I'm taking my families jet ski from Poole to Alderney and back in one day for two very close, and important charities.. Breakthrough Brest Cancer and Ceoliac disease. I'm sponsored by MDL Marinas and Yamaha Motors, I've been in this months issue of MBM and a couple other papers and mags. If there is anything you can do to help raise awareness, or even spare a pound I will be ever so grateful! I have two just giving pages, one for each charity- http://www.justgiving.com/jelliscoeliac2011

If this is genuine and for genuine charities then I wish you all the best in your attempt and hope you raise loads.......and don`t worry about the spelling, we all know what is meant.;)

PS
I`ve just visited your site Josh, well done, it`s nice to see someone doing something for good causes.

well isnt it a breath of fresh air to see someone of my age doing something for a good cause? People my age get such bad press these days.. I want to prove that not all of us sit around doing nothing.. and when we're doing something we're up to no good, and believe me.. where I live I'm fully aware of that going on. But not all of us are like that. Like my friend who is swimming from Southampton to the Isle of White. Surely posting that on this thread is a bit narrow minded?

I have been a jet skier for over 15 years now and still enjoy the sport, I have also done a couple of long distance runs for charity, think about 60 miles, but my seadoo would easily do this range as you will find you wont be pushing it too hard all the way as that will just waste fuel and will reduce the range, Im sure you have already done a few runs to work out the most economical speed to cruise at? Dont worry about all the negative comments and think of the good cause that will benefit, Good luck and keep us posted on the result.

Looks like this particular 14 year old is showing more maturity than some of the more mature posters on this thread.

Nice reply Joshua. Good luck with the challenge

Couldnt agree more who cares about the spelling, its a good idea and two very good causes.
I think the issue is that it is on a jet ski and so all the old narrow minded old duffers come out.

Good look to you fella.

Keep us intouch with how you get on.

For those not aware of the existence of sarcasm, please look it up on Google, your favourite search engine, or a dictionary. :D

My post was a quoted response to Csails negative comments. Of course he's not better off mugging old ladies etc, that's called sarcasm, which you now know about as you just Googled it :p

So just to be clear and serious, well done Joshua for doing something useful. I do hope though that you have a support boat and adequate safety gear.

I totally got that. My post was in response to posts #2 and #4.

Isle of White.

I do not think so

My god, this chap is 14.. Some need to have a look at what they type before hitting submit. This is a perfectly acceptable post, I’m sure he has the backing of his parents/guardians and the trip will be well assessed before he sets off.

Good on you for doing something for a good cause Joshua. Keep the rest of us posted on your trip and add some photos if you can.

Best of luck and have a safe trip.

Good luck young man. Its look like you are genuine enough so I wish you all success in your venture. It is good to see youngsters with ambition and determination working for a good cause and everyone shold support that. Don't worry about all the digs on here at you or your spelling. Most are only joking and underneath it all, believe it or not, will actually wish you well and success.

I had the pleasure of meeting this young man at Lymington on one of his trial runs, and I have to say that he is a genuine individual, although I did accuse him of being mad, but then I'm probably too old to be that adventurous.

He has the full support of his dad (I'm assuming it was his dad) who is a boater with a Sealine S38, and who will accompany him on the trip.

I have no particular afinity to either charity but will be throwing a few quid in simply because I admire and take heart in a youngster actually getting up and doing something positive.

So for those who are old enough to know better than to knock a youngster for actually trying something a bit challenging, I would ask, what have you done lately?

Good luck Josh
