Most of you probably have the same low opinions of most Jet Ski riders as me but in the interests of balance I have decided to reproduce an abridged version this story from the Purbeck Gazette...
" During an afternoon of blustery winds and heavy seas on Friday 16th July NCI received a call informing them of a cormorant entangled in a fishing net 50 meters from the shore in Durlston Bay....Several other calls were received but no one had the facilities to rescue the stricken bird which was slowly succumbing to the elements.
A call was then received from a man asking if he could be of assistance....Shortly afterwards in was seen on his jetski in treacherous seas over the Peveril Ledges on his way into the bay. It took considerable skill in rolling and breaking surf to extricate the bird from the net without damaging either but with the assistance of his wife he managed it and was seen ramming the disgruntled bird still very much alive into a small cuddy in the bows of his jetski. He then made it back to Swanage beach."
