Jet Ski *******ing - your thoughts.

The piper at 7:37 was every bit as noisy.

The jetski was nowhere near the yacht, so the only inconvenience was noise

The jetski went to the RIB, no sign of any policing going on, nor any warranted.

I missed the real action. Whilst I was ashore he was slaloming between the yachts trying to get water into the cockpit. I was seriously thinking of rigging a line between the yachts but settled for taking a pocket full of pebbles back to the boat in case he tried it again.

I think the RNLI pulled him up because he was towing someone in a rubber ring at a ridiculous speed until they flipped in a mass of flayling arms and legs - lucky not to break something.

Fair enough, that wasn't obvious from the video.
If you had chucked some pebbles you're the one that would have been up before the sheriff though.

Just back from Kyle a wee while ago at launch of new life boat Atlantic 85 The Spirit of Fred Olsen, dont think that jet ski was local by the way, and why the hell cant they go and prat around away from boats moorings etc, oh forgot no one can see them

Nice scenery,brought back memories.
But if you're going to go to places like Kyle of Lochalsh you really need to get to grips with the -CH SOUND----it's not hard ,y'know!

I don't know; these ignorant yoba tearing about the place in their unseamanlike toys, causing a disturbance to us propper seafarers without having a clue what they are doing and having the temerity to delude themselves that they know what they are doing...

There's nothing wrong with jetski's that a decent sniper rifle can't fix...the berks sometimes follow in the wake of the Solent ferries, I'd imagine the Solent suddenly becomes very big indeed when the thing conks out in the middle.

Of course the really worrying thing is what if someone was in a tender when they prat-race through the moorings as in Dylans' video ?

They do that sort of thing quite often, I'm genuinely surprised I haven't heard of any serious incidents caused by these morons; at least they should be followed home and something put in the local water supply to prevent them breeding...

But they are tremendous fun and I've had a few great half hours on them.

wouldn't do it more tha once or twice a year though.

Going through moorings isn't on, but I do admit to chasing a motorboat which had gone close to two goose winged yachts in light winds then doing tight circles around it as its top speed was ( just for once in my life) a lot less than mine.

This is how they do it in Brazil. Emailed from a mate over there.

JET-SKI Justice – Brazilian Style!!!!!!

We all know the problems caused by jet-skis the world over. There is something about them that turns the riders into total morons the minute they get aboard one.

Night had fallen as the small ferry left the city terminal and headed down the narrow channel when out of the dark a jet-ski swooped in and with a typical broadside turn, accompanied by ‘whoops’ of joy, drenched the ferry’s passengers with its spray.

A moment or two later the stunned and soaked passengers erupted into a howling mob demanding that the captain turn the ferry around and give chase. The jet-ski was found skulking amongst the moored vessels in the town basin but obviously alerted to their possible fate by the screaming passengers raced off back down the river away from their pursuers.

The ferry resumed its chase and shortly after a cry of recognition went up as the jet-ski was found being hauled out of the water at the local marina. The ferry pulled into a neighboring wharf and around 15 irate men, including a crippled guy who even left his crutches on the ferry, swarmed ashore.

The first enthusiastic ‘vigilante’ ran into a marina security guard who, unaware of the situation, suspected something foul and dropped the vigilante with a blow to the side of the head with a length of timber. As the rest of the mob arrived they overcame the security guard before falling on the two jet-ski riders and beating the living **** out of them.

The situation was then fairly quickly brought to order with the arrival of the police. The injured ferry passenger and the jet-ski riders were transported to hospital and the excited crowd returned to the ferry to regale their heroics. There was talk of having the jet-ski riders prosecuted but by the time the ferry reached its destination it was generally considered that the jet-ski riders had probably learned their lesson. Their dental bills, and explaining to their friends what had happened should be enough.
