There's an update to Plan2Nav for Android (maybe others ?)
It costs £13 odd and claims to correct some of it's deficiencies .

Anybody bought it ?
Is it worth it ?

I understand it also includes updated Spring 2013 versions of the charts you have already bought.

Downloaded the update today (£13 odd)
This does not work at least on my Galaxy Note 2.
My maps are unusable.
Jeppesen tell me it's a known issue and are working on it
Don't be tempted yet.

Works on my galaxy tab 10.1. Go into your app manager and clear the cache for Plan2Nav reboot and try again.

I'll second that .... I've had loads of problems with Plan2Nav on my Nexus7 with an error message on start ...

Generic error (The Web Store was upgraded to manage the new features, but it requires the Plan2Nav and/or Maps Manager to be updated to the last version. Please, exit the app, update it and retry.)

I deleted the cache and data from the Maps Manager Service (ver. 1.3.1R) and the cache from Plan2Nav (ver. 1.0.5). I also deleted the registered device from the Jeppesen web site in my account details. I then re-entered my account details and re-registered the device from Plan2Nav. Since doing this it all seems to work OK.

Tried clearing the p2n cache and rebooting.
No good I'm afraid.
Have not tried the 'Baggywrinkle' fix yet.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled p2n and reinstalled the map
No fix found yet.

BTW on latest versions there is no longer a Maps Manager.
I guess it's integrated now into p2n

Well, I find it easier to use than the Navionics one, doesn't crash all the time, routing, waypoints are all pretty easy to use.

Main gripe is that if you are in GPS follow mode, and you scroll around, you have to remember to lock again, mind you my SH180 plotter does that so I shouldn't grumble.
Also as you zoom in and out north up is lost and you need to double tap the compass to reset.

I gave it 4.5 and the Navionics 3 stars.

Android ICS on ASUS TF300.

Ian

Bit of an update.
Still in contact with Jeppersen who are responding at least.

Have tried completely deleting and re-installing eveything.
Each time eveything works apart from the system is unable to see the updated dowloaded map.
The map and it's license file etc. are all in the default file locations etc.

I have requested a rool back to the prieviuos map version or a refund.

Maybe peculiar to my Galaxy Note 2 or Android 4.1 ?
