My boat has both the yankee and the staysail on furlers with no where to fit an inner forestay. I was thinking this summer to remove the staysail furler and fit a traditional inner forestay, with a new hank on staysail and hank on storm jib. Meanwhile I have been advised by Jeckells of Wroxham that they offer a storm jib that wraps around the furled staysail and has parell beads that go around the luff of the storm jib and the rolled staysail with the foot tensioned below the roller drum and allows the storm jib to be hoisted over the furled staysail using the spinnaker halyard. If this works it would save a lot of hassle and buying a new staysail. I have searched the web but can find very little about this type of wrap around storm jib apart from one called a gale sail. Jeckells tell me they have a lot of satisfied blue water customers who use this system. I wondered if any of them might be on this forum and could share their experiences of the system with me??
