Jeanneau Sunshine/Apollo 12

The old man was looking at a Sun Shine today; anybody got any opinions about them? do they all have centreboards, or was there a deep fin option? And am I right in guessing the greek Apollo 12 is a copy of it, a bit like the Olympic Sea 42 is a copy of the Sun Legende? Nice looking boat, and the owner sez it goes like s**t off a teflon coated shovel.

There are fin keel versions. They sail well. Hull based on an Admiral Cupper (?). My main criticism is a lack of stowage and too many berths.

Deep fin draws 6' 6" and is great fun to sail - handles like a big dinghy.

I know someone who sailed on a centreboard version owned by a friend, and apparently the centreboard rattles about and makes a horrible noise all the time - can't see why you would want one, go for the fin keel.

Don't think I'd want to take one blue water, but for coastal sailing and messing about they are a blast.

Chartered a Sunshine in Corfu and had great fun. Fast, big, easy to sail but like all them french bendy toy types. Nearly bought the actual one I chartered when it came back to the Solent from Corfu but wanted too much. He was selling it for about £35K
