Hi,
Any Prestige 34 owners out there?

Got my -03 model with KAD 43 in Feb this year. Have done 1700 nm so far.

are you pleased with her? we are thinking of upgrading and the 34 hardtop is on our shortlist along with beneteau and jeanneau flybridges. What is the build quality etc like?

We've only had her for a summer but so far it seems pretty good. I've had to re-tighten a few screws here and there but thats probably not uncommon on any boat thats been through a bit of ruff sea.
The hull actually seems particulary solid and I have not found any elcheapo sollutions when it comes to the hull or anything else safety related.

The interior is obviously not the same as in handbuilt boats but in my opinion its perfectly acceptable.
Its not premium priced so I would say it has a very good balance between costs and quality.

We are actually happy enough with the boat and general quality to seriously consider trading up to the new Prestige 42 Fly thats about to be launched.

Hello,
I bought this year a Prestige 34 with the new D4s 260hp engines. I had it delivered in Nice, France and sailed it to Greece. I have to say I am very happy with the boat and it performs beautifully with the D4s. I think it is very well priced for what you get. Of course it is not like a handbuilt boat but it is very good quality for a mass production boat. There are several details you can improve yourself.
Do you have trim tabs? I want to install some this winter. Any thoughts?

Hi,
I don't have trimtabs but as you (and if I do not upgrade to the 42) I will install trimtabs. Not sure though which size will be right ie 40cm or 60cm.
Do you know which make and size gets installed from factory?

I will then aslo install an automatic trim tab controller that will keep the boat at level during planing without any manual intervention.

Yes, I asked Jeanneau and they told me they install electric trim tabs by Lenco (www.lencomarine.com). They use a company in France called Navicom (www.navicom.fr). They put the TT 12x18 ENS. This is 30.48x45.72 in centimetres. I measured my boat and they seem to fit, however the swim ladder will touch the tab once lowered. I am not sure if you have one of the latest prestige 34s, but I believe there is a difference between the latest ones and the older ones (I am not sure when this change took place). In the latest ones the hull extends on the two sides with a width of around 50cm on each side beyond the sterndrives, nearly all the way to the edge of the swim-platform. So the trim tabs would be installed on these edges, further back than the drives and nearly outside the platform. I can send you pictures if you want if this does not make sense. Now the distance between this edge and the ladder when it is down is about 29cm. So I would expect the ladder to rest on the trim tab (when it is horizontal). Of course as the ladder unfolds in the middle this is not a big problem. The ladder will touch the tab rather than unfold fully and be slightly crooked. Of course there is the option of installing 9x18 inch tabs but these would be too small according to all manufacturers' sizing charts. On the older Prestiges there should be no such issue.

Thanks for the info,

I have the older hull so my challange will be different.

Do you know why they made the change to the bathing platform?

Well, I guess they did it for sea-keeping reasons? By extending the hull in the back you get more uplift in the back? maybe sort of what you can get from trim tabs, but I believe the driving of the boat will improve a lot with trim tabs. On a side sea it really does lean to one side, and on a head sea it would help to keep the bow down. Also the D4s which my boat has are around 90kg heavier each than the KAD300s so a bit of lift in the back is a good thing.

I guess that makes sence, when the tanks are full and the boat is lightly loaded up front it could do with a bit of lift in the back.
