Anyone know about this or have experience? I've read one account of cracking (Jeanneau owners site!) but this could happen on any boat I guess. The marketing blurb says its better quality control, thinner and lighter. I'm not sure the last two are positives

I have a Jeanneau 35 with this deck - the deck moulding itself seems well finished and very stiff, after 3 years usage the only flaws I can see are two tiny gelcoat surface stress cracks at the complex turnover moulding on the coaming by the hinged cockpit locker lids - fairly high stress areas as apart from lids opening and shutting this bit of coaming supports winches and gets trodden/jumped on quite a bit.

Some of the other minor mouldings are less good, resin-rich edges and some voids, but all these are in very non-structural parts.

2 years old SO35. No problem so far with that deck. I had to cut a hole in it for ventilation purposes: the rather dense foam between the two skins seems strengthened by a plastic honeycomb structure.

3 year old SO35, no problems with mine, but I do know who had the problem with the cracked deck, it was in the south east. It was apparent from delivery.

I have had a raft of other problems though. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And if it's any consolation, the boat was replaced.
