Hi, I wonder if anyone out there has tried to replace the Waste Tank skin fitting on one of these yachts? Our boat is 11 years old and the ball valve is not just incredibly stiff but also showing signs of corrosion and I plan to replace it this month. The difficulty comes from the fact that it is buried almost underneath the actual Head so whilst the old fitting could be easily sliced off underneath, getting the new one in and tightening it up is almost impossible. I guess its installed by Jeanneau before they put the heads module in. I can only assume we are going to have to cut the heads base away to get in there and then re fibreglass / gel the whole assembly. Has anyone had this task before and if so how did you go about it please? Any ideas and advice very welcome! Thanks Derek

Can't help regarding your specific boat but as most boats have "challenging" skin fitting locations if you can provide pictures you may get some generic access solutions.

Hi Cloud7, Thanks for coming back to me. How on earth did you get inside the space behind the Head to re tighten the new seacock? Have you found a special spanner or tool to do the job? Really interested in how you did this! Regards Derek

The boatyard made a short shaft spanner / the new bronze was just 4 sides double screw , so fitted from outside , sealant, washer inside , first screw and then locking one . It’s worth looking at bronze as they fit perfectly into hull.

Thank you very much. I had the engineer on board today and he said he felt this could be tackled with a bit of creativity, seems like you have provided that so thank you! Safe sailing! Derek
