Re: Jeanneau 34 rounds Cape Horn

Hmm - I'll have to let swmbo know ... perhaps we could take ours around! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Mind you, she'd need to grow by a few feet (the boat! the boat!) just to get the stores onboard /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Jeanneau 34 rounds Cape Horn

I wonder what it is that they feed these French sailors on! Wherever you go, there seems to be the French single hander in a boat we wouldnt consider fit for the park lake (are there still any of those around?).

We were cowering in Gijon once with a F7/8 North Westerly driving rollers clear over the harbour wall and the marineros scurrying round replacing the pontoon cleats they had previously removed (to prevent theft!) when a single handed Frenchman in a 26footer arrived direct from la Rochell. Had only been sailing for 7 months and was off around.

Re: Jeanneau 34 rounds Cape Horn

Their route was:-

Hamble, Cork, Cape Verdes, Venezuela, Rio, Cape Horn, Sydney - where their boat now is.

Ah - you see, the french are stubbon lots - they don't believe the weather and wave states apply to them.
