We looked at a 2007 32i but have now looked at several other models and ages of yachts I forget some of the details but looking at the photos of this particular yacht the teak on the sole and seats looks like some sort of laminate similar to that used in the saloon.

Can anyone advise if I am right or wrong please.

2007 marked the change to a laminate sole. Very hard wearing apparently, unlike the varnish on my infeasibly thin veneered teak/holly sole boards on a 2005 SO35.

The boards in the saloon and cabins are laminate, but the seats and cockpit floor are likely to be real wood. They certainly were on my 2004 SO32 and are on my 379.

I need to replace the vaneer (holly/teak) on my Saloon sole boards.

I asume a machine shop planes it off and glues on new vaneer. Can anyone recommend anyone who does this at a reasonable price. Some panels have an edging that will need to be removed and replaced. Dont think its suitable to vaneer straight over as some have damaged edges.

Its OK having a convertable saloon table but not when the support tubes are removed and dropped on the sole boards!!

Its cheaper to buy the boards already veneered, believe it or not.

Some like the Robbins supply, others prefer different suppliers.

Getting the varnish/lacquer finish to match current is your most difficult task, as it was sprayed on in a production process. Very costly when I did all my doors.
