I have recently purchased a Jeanneau 2000 with asymetric spinnaker on a removable bowsprit. The problem is that when the bowsprit is in place, the tang at the end of the bowsprit faces downwards instead of upwards so it is not possible to attach the tack of the spinnaker to it. The bowsprit will not mount the other way up. The handbook which came with the boat is very vague about rigging the asymmetric, I don't think thet the previous owner ever used it so I am left with the thought that maybe Jeanneau assembled the bowsprit incorrectly, or that I am a bit thick and am missing something very obvious.
Any help from Jeanneau 2000 owners woild be appreciated.

On our asymetric boats the tack of the spinnaker goes through the tang at the end of the bowsprit and is then led back to the cockpit so you can adjust the sail. Are you sure this isn't how yours is supposed to be?

Thanks for the reply. This is how I presumed the tack was attached and what you say confirms that Jeanneau has assembled the bowsprit incorrectly! I shall drill ot the rivets and reverse the direction of the attachment.

Many thanks.
