Javelin man

"Based on an RORC 1/2 ton prototype. (1967, La Rochelle, 'Norsue V')
Javelin 30s were molded by Marine Contruction Ltd. and fitted out by a number of other builders. 2 different keel configurations were available." From Sailboatdata.com

Maybe someone knows where Marcon stuff went?

Welcome to the forum

I was at the Marcon liquidation sale (and bought two part complete boats on behalf of my employer). Long time ago but don't remember any drawings or technical information in the sale.

Not difficult to take the lines off the hull yourself when the boat is out of the water. There is a good description of how to do it in Maurice Griffiths book "50 years a Yacht Designer"

BTW Robert Wilson who posts here has a Javelin.

Contact the Sabre 27 Owners Association. Rather bizarrely, a couple of years ago, a friend was speaking to a friend of his who'd acquired a filing cabinet at a boot sale or something. Inside, was a load of paperwork from Marcon, and even the below reel of Super 8 film. At the time I had a Sabre and I managed to put them in touch with the association and the stuff was preserved.

I know there was some non-Sabre stuff in there so you might be lucky...

Indeed I do! Love of my life and a great boat to sail, as evidenced by a "belter" of a sail yesterday morning. I averaged just over theorectical maximum speed for three hours.:D

But enough of me and my boat; to return to the OP:

As Tranona says, if you can get the boat out of the water and unencumbered by lots of props, cradles etc it should be easy(ish) to do the measurements yourself.
I suggest you establish with a spirit-level where on/in your boat is horizontal in the water and use that when levelling on land.
Stand the boat on perfectly horizontal land/chocking and away you go measuring from ground level, deck level and any other level you think might help.
When painting mine last year (and the year before ) I took loads of measurements to make sure I achieved the exact placing of the boot-topping.
Khamsin is in the water and on a calm day the boot-topping is spot-on.:encouragement:

Good luck.

P.S. If you would like to talk about Javelins please get in touch.
