Jamie Oliver Non boaty

Re: Wish I had seen that.

The Essex Pig Company was televised on BBC as the documentary series 'Jimmy's Farm' showing how he got the farm up and running with bugger all finances.

Jamie Oliver is an old school chum of Jimmy's, and came in with a loan of £50 grand or so to help keep him running when things were tight. It was an excellent series.

I was shown how to catch mackerel by Floatything last year after many failed attempts- go out on a rising tide and follow the 10 metre contour. keep your speed down to 2-3 knots.

wow - it works, we were hauling them in 6 at a time.

Re: Wish I had seen that.

Don't wish to be discordant yet again, but JO has been "crapping" on about the whole issue from the start of the series. This last one was the most cogent so far.

Young persons (and their elders sometimes) will always go with the flow, what is a national disgrace is that until young Mr. Oliver (I haven't been introduced) nobody took much notice.

Like most things, I find it difficult to understand how matters should have gone downhill; I can only observe that for all levels of our life in this country, there is incredible pressure on families; for many couples with kids both partners have to work to maintain the standard of living - whatever they decide that to be - and because of the nanny state parents and teachers are not allowed to raise more than a voice should a conflict arise.

Accordingly peeps succumb to the line of least resistance, if Jimmy won't eat nourishing stew and sprouts (ugh!), then give him recosntituted - or even constituted T.Twizzlers.

I think J.O. should ge a peerage not just a SirShip for being so persistent!

If anyone near him gets to read thts then I have a message for Jules - support the poor bugger all you can 'cos he is a real Saint. I'd have given up years ago.

Huggy, Huggy, Kissee, Kissee. Jamie Oliver for Pope - vene if he is an Essex Boy (haha)

Jamies School Dinners

We have been enjoying the programme for the last couple of weeks. Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with the comments about Jamie O's personal qualities, I think the most revealing thing has been the behaviour change in the kids who are eating proper food. SWMBO was telling me last night that the schools which have stuck with the JO regime have seen huge improvements in the way the children behave - less hyper, better concentration etc. Since SWMBO has recently given up being a teacher primarily because of poor behaviour, perhaps Jamie will be credited in the future for saving the teaching profession!
