Jaguar 21 - Any Comments?

My brother has asked me to take a look at a Jaguar 21 he is considering. Anything in particular I should look out for?

Keel lifting mechanism
Maststep
Deck fittings inc cleats and fairleads
Windows for signs of leaks.

The Jaguar 21 was a nice design, quick adn easily handled. Generally speaking they had a reputation for being not badly put together but some of the fittings were on the light side and the interior joinery was not the neatest

I'm an ex 21 0wner, #107 I think a good boat built cheap, or at least down to a price, JJ is spot on the aluminium rudder box was a week point, mine split down a weld, the plate on top of the rudder was selftapped into end grain,not good.
Still, a fun boat for all that. I don't regret owning mine.

Thanks James for that useful list, and all other contributors for pointers. I will hopefully visit the boat tomorrow and pay particular attention to areas suggested.
(The weather was out of order on South Coast today!)

Incidentally, the Jaguar site is now www.jaguar-yachts.info and very well presented it is too.
