There is a leak between the bowl and the base of the toilet. Can i repare this with silicone or a similar product? The gasket looks ok but seems to thin to effectively close the gap.

Is this gasket present in the repair kit? As far as i can see on the photo from the repair kit it is not there. Anyway its rather expensive to buy the repair kit for the pump and the rest to replace only this seal.

If the gasket looks OK, you could try reassembling with some sealant each side of the gasket. Are you quite sure there isn't a crack in the plastic anywhere near?

The seal is included in the "Bowl mounting kit", "Kit E", which also includes new bolts, washers and dome nuts

the kit is £8.45 from from Jabsco shop http://www.jabscoshop.com/marine/marine-toilets/toilets/manual-toilets/

Select your toilet and scroll down to see the parts diagram ( click to zoom) and the parts lists

It is not in any of the other kits. A, B, C or D.

I'd not consider that a mint of money to fix the problem properly but no doubt it could be all sealed up with silicone

I had that too. Base is plastic and was cracked.

Unless you want the deep aroma generated by this problem, buy a new base and install. Dead easy ... 15 minutes.

You must have considerably more space around your toilet than I do. That job would be at least a morning's work for me by the time all the leaks caused by moving everything had been fixed.

About £28 from Jabsco shop. You'll also need the base valve gasket £5.50 as well as Kit E

I'd suggest get the Kit E then if the base is OK you have what you need to fix.
If you find the base is cracked get the new base and the valve gasket.

Waste of money

buy a Lavac

I fitted a replacement Jabsco 6 seasons ago, since then every part of it broke, some parts broke twice

I spent a fortune on 'service kits' and days of my time fixing it. What a piece of badly designed, over complicated, badly made from bad materials piece of rubbish.

Every cruise spoilt by bog trouble.

So last summer I got a LAVAC. - bliss
