Can this pump be used for a permanent application (injecting cooling water into the exhaust)? The model is 3720-2012.

No, you need a belt driven pump or you will burn out the electris motor

You need a pump that is continously rated. Jabsco used to make a 12V circulation pump 59500-0012 which was often fitted to car cooling systems as well as to boats but I can only find a 24V version on the web. You could ask Clegorn Waring . They are very helpful.
