Best tip is to always keep cooking oil in the bog and tip a bit down regular, then you will have few problems.

But not if you have a holding tank, unless you want to encourage stinky bacteria with a film of oil excluding oxygen on the top of yer efluent (for want of a better word).

If that was the case, any smell would go up the breather and outside the boat.

Any other smells are usually from old pipes, but can be eliminated by a spray of pet deodorizer.

There are two choices, stick a little bit of oil down there every other day or use a service kit every other week.

Smells are down to other problems that have been discussed on here since time began.
