Jabsco Quiet flush to replace existing Jabsco manual toilet

Hi all

I've a Jabsco manual toilet and would like to replace it with an electric Quiet Flush one.

My current outlet is to the rear of the Manila pump housing, with the pump to the right of the bowl.

All the pics I've seen of the electric loo shows the outlet at the front of the electric pump assembly, which will make a drop-in swap a little more difficult.

Q. Have you swapped a manual Jabsco manual toilet for a Quiet Flush electric model? Was it a true drop-in swap? Did you have the waste outlet to the rear of the pump assembly?

When I faced the same question, I discovered that whilst the base bolt holes were in the same position, if installed thus, the toilet would be offset too much to fit in the available place. We went with another brand new Jabsco manual twist 'n lock version and used the considerable financial saving over the electric ones to buy a complete spare pump assembly to carry on board and swap over in the event of any problem, thence giving time for reconditioning the one removed
 
I think they all have the outlet in this position, because of the way the motor assembly fits to the pump which fits to the base of the bowl. Have a look at the exploded parts diagrams (widely available) and you'll see what I mean.

PS the quiet flush isn't terribly quiet...
 
I put in a lite flush to replace mine. All in one unit so a true drop in replacement.

It’s not overly quiet but it’s only on briefly. No issues all season. Very happy with it.

I’d put the money towards a Tecma.
 
I did the same thing last winter. I looked at all others, such as Tecma, Planus etc) but the Jabsco was the only one that would fit.

The feet holes are in different locations but that didn’t cause too much of an issue for me. A couple of holes tapped with a new thread was all that was required. I also had to switch the orientation of the waste outlet which is easy to do on the quiet flush, just release the bolts on the base and the bowl will swivel round fine.

By the way, although it is called a “quiet” flush it sounds like an aircraft taking off when it is flushed (you can hear it on the pontoon!) and the quality looks pretty average. If you have the room then my advice, as above, is to look at other options first.
 
Recommend the Jabsco Lite flush.
It fitted directly without problem in place of the manual Jabsco.
Now been fitted for 5 years, two of us been living aboard aboard 24/7 for the last 4 years (going down as far as Africa and back)
That’s a hell of a lot of use and not had any problems with it yet,
It was as quiet as the manual one it replaced to start, but has got louder over time.

I had considered the Lite Flush, but I understood that they had issues with the belts failing regularly.

Perhaps it's worth a revisit (and perhaps they've had a redesign to stop that issue)?

mine doesn't. All in the china. All the ones I've seen are the same. Perhaps you bought a low one as in the S37 it sits on a plinth.
In my sealine it sits on a plinth too but I bought a full height one, designed to sit on a flat floor. It means the loo is higher than it used to be. My heads are huge so I thought I'd fabricate a step, but in practice the higher loo doesn't bother anyone so I've not bothered.
The (quiet) freshwater pump is as loud as the loo macerator, so it wakes no one.
